About Two's A Crowd

Two's A Crowd is a not for profit Production Company based in and around Stamford and Peterborough. We aim to produce innovative, engaging and visually stimulating work that both recognises and challenges theatrical conventions.

Our objective is to create conceptually interesting work that reflects theatre's and our actor's versatility by utilising multi-rolling, physical comedy, improvisation and inter-medial elements.

We aim to achieve this through our devised and scripted performances. We strive to captivate audiences by providing them with a multitude of entertaining theatrical projects.

We produce, we perform, we play.

Two's A Crowd Productions was started with the intention of recognising and celebrating all the roles people undertake in theatre making on and off stage.

Often creative people wear many 'hats' and do many jobs to bring a production to life. When working on one project these talented people can be directors, producers, writers, stage managers, designers, technicians and more simultaneously... a real 'crowd' of their own.

Sadly this vital work 'behind the scenes' can go unrecognised...

We want to ensure that we celebrate and champion our practitioners for every part they play in producing amazing work!

This company started with two - but as you can see, Two's a Crowd.

Rob Anthony - Company Director, Producer, Actor, you name it...

Rob Anthony - Producer - Two's A Crowd Productions

Rob Anthony – Producer

Rob's interest in the theatre industry sparked at a young age, with him performing in an array of productions both amateur and professional throughout the years, with Stage Coach Theatre Schools, various Youth Theatre Companies and School Productions. Rob has also developed experience in teaching children and assisting directors by facilitating sessions and workshops on various projects, as well as working closely with young adults with learning disabilities.

The enthusiasm Rob has for theatre led him to study Drama at the University of Lincoln as well as go on to study a Masters Degree in Creative and Cultural Industries Management. Alongside his studies he has worked on various projects, most recently directed a show for the National Youth Theatre Connections Festival, and has taken on a variety of roles both on and off stage over the years.

Having co-created this non for profit Production Company, Rob is one of the two Company Directors of Two’s A Crowd Productions. In addition to his duties as a Company Director, Rob will be working as our Producer and one of our Actors for our upcoming productions. Rob is excited to bring his experience and passion for theatre into the company’s first and future projects.

Joe Giggs – Artistic Director

Joe first became invested in theatre when he performed in The Rainmaker as part of his year six Christmas play. Since then he has performed in various productions, both amateur and professional. Whilst at the University of Lincoln, Joe wrote and directed a short play as part of the Directors Challenge. It was in this time that Joe developed a love for directing and helping others unleash their potential.

During his studies, Joe also got involved in The Lincoln Company’s adaptation of Charandas Chor, a show that helped raise awareness of both regional and international identity across Lincolnshire. Joe also recently directed a production as part of the National Youth Theatre Connections Fesitval and teaches frequently with Wildcats Theatre School.

Joe is also one of the two Company Directors of Two’s A Crowd Productions, having co-created the company with Rob. As a result of this Joe encompasses the duties of a Company Director, as well as working as our Artistic Director and one of our Actors for our upcoming productions. Joe is eager to lead others and allow his passion to be fully realised in all the company’s projects.

Amber Jeffery - Creative Designer - Two's A Crowd Productions

Amber Jeffery – Creative Designer

Amber has had a keen interest in art and textiles from a young age, frequently entering works into local competitions. During this time, she has developed a wide range of skills from painting to drawing to designing and creating cuddly toys.

It was her love of art that led her to study Fine Art at the University of Lincoln where she furthered her abilities. Her studies encompassed a variety of techniques and allowed her to develop her own unique artistic style. During her time at university, Amber was also involved in a range of group projects where she took responsibility for managing resources and devising marketing strategies. Since then she has also created her own company - selling a variety of hand crafted homeware.

Amber’s role in the company includes managing finances and resources, whilst also assisting with the acquisition of costume, props and set. Amber is keen to get involved with the company and to expand her skills with resource management and set design.

Lucy Anthony – Stage Manager

Lucy has been involved in theatre since the age of 7, having performed as part of a children’s drama group at multiple theatres in Birmingham, including Symphony Hall and The Crescent Theatre. Her love for drama continued through her involvement in various school musicals. Lucy then volunteered in her High School’s Drama department during her Gap Year, where she discovered a passion for all things behind the scenes, adopting the roles of assistant director and assistant choreographer for Grease: The Musical and Stage Manager for a variety show.

The experience Lucy gained led her to the University of Lincoln to study Drama. During her time there she Stage Managed two shows at the LPAC Theatre, one of which was adapted for a professional performance at Newark Castle for the anniversary celebrations of King John’s death in 2016. Lucy then went on to Study a Masters Degree in Events Management.

Lucy’s main responsibilities within the company involve both Stage Management (incorporating duties that are typically held between an assistant, deputy and main Stage Manager), and Technical Design, which will include designing and cueing the lighting, sound and other technical requirements for our productions. Lucy is eager to bring her organisation and dedication to the company, whilst developing her career as a Stage Manager.
